What is TPM?

  • TPM is ‘Total Productive Maintenance’, it is medical science of machines
  • TPM is to change the attitude from “I use, you maintain” to, “I use, I maintain”

TPM is nothing but the proactive and preventive maintenance which is carried out to increase the efficiency of machines and equipment’s .This is the process which involves workers and operators, so as to maintain the shop floors neat and clean. It softens the difference between the roles of production and maintenance. The purpose of TPM is to increase the production of the organisation at the same time job satisfaction of employees because of their involvement in organisational activities.
